Bxmbz’s new album arrives with a very hefty 20-song runtime—The result is an ambitious, at-times unwieldy project that nevertheless delivers several standout moments. Below, I have done a spotlight on three key cuts, and the accompanying documentary, and official music video. All you need to decide if you’re ready to dive into this release. 1. The Documentary Before you press play on the album, check out the doc that dropped on YouTube. It chronicles Bxmbz’s grind and the narrative behind the album journey. You can catch raw footage of the writing process, candid interviews with collaborators. Watching it sets the scene: this isn’t a label-manufactured drop, but a labor of love. "BETRAYAL” Kicking off with a slamming pulse and a bass line, “BETRAYAL” immediately stakes its claim. Bxmbz slides into the pocket with a flow so seamless it feels improvised each internal rhyme snapping into place, each double-time flourish landing like a calculated punch. But it’s the hook that really hooks you. If you judge this album on a single song, make it this one. “PENANCE” ft. KennFrancis Here, Bxmbz spills his guts in tandem with fellow DOTWAV MC KennFrancis. No glittering synths or pitched vocals just a raw, y loop, drums, that leave space for unvarnished confession. Each line carries the weight of a thousand regrets. It’s a difficult song to swallow, but its honesty cuts deeper than any brag. You feel every syllable. “OVER HERE” ft. JoJo Flow If “PENANCE” is the album’s confessional catharsis, “OVER HERE” is its victorious anthem. JoJo Flow fresh off a breakout mixtape threads the needle, weaving airy vocals through a synth sweep that never quite lands where you expect. Bxmbz has a grin in his delivery. This is the kind of track you put on loop when you need to remind yourself that hustle can coexist with harmony. In focusing on these three songs, you get a snip of the full album’s scope. The other 17 cuts fill in the details. Bxmbz’s personal chronicle but these standouts prove that the marathon length is no accident. This project asks for time and attention, but hands you back moments of real connection in return. Whether you jump in with the documentary first or dive straight into “BETRAYAL,” make room in your rotation this is one of the boldest drops of the year.
