GLENN A.COOPER A.K.A.DJ ALAMO, born in Brooklyn, New York, moved to South Jersey in the early 90’s where he gave birth to his disc jockey career. He always had a love for music, and entertaining people, also within him was an even deeper love for hip-hop and an interest in the art of turntablism. Becoming a DJ was a second nature for him. Legend and Fleet DJ, DJ Alamo has opened for high profile celebrities such as Fat Joe, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Black Moon, and he has recently opened for Kid Capri, Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex, Power 99’s Hot Boyz, Jay z, Kayslay, Jadakiss, the whole Lox family, Michael Collier, Gillie da kid, Buffy the body, Esther Baxter, Meagan Goode, Vivica A. Fox, Tamala Jones, Eva Pigford, Wu Tang, Brooklyn Zoo, Big Daddy Kane, MC Lyte, Keyshia Cole, Lisa Raye, Stacey Dash, Lil Wayne, Jim Jones, Lil Scrappy, Cory Gunz, Yo Gotti, and Capone (from Capone & Norega). He has also spun events with some of the bigger names in the industry like DJ Pcutta, DJ Envy, DJ Clue and Mr. Cee from NY’s Hot 97, DJ Ron G, DJ Doowop, Fatman Scoop, Bizmarkie in VA and from NY’s Power 105.1 DJ Whutevva, DJ Ykcor and DJ Greg Nitty from Philly’s 100.3 The Beat., DJ Doc B, and DJ Cosmic Kev. He has also done events with some major corporations such as The Boys and Girls Club, CVS pharmacy, with plenty of guest appearances in the Tri-State. What is your purpose as DJ Alamo? To be the best DJ in the world! I am the entertainer that blesses the new generation and continuously helps others. What would you say is your signature as a DJ? I'm a crowd motivator. I always bring a high level of energy. Name your current DJ affiliations Fleet DJs, 24k DJs, Fire Squad DJs, Interstate Mafia, Murda Mamis, and I just joined Hood Affairs DJs. Currently, what mixtape series do you release? There are two. Respect the DJ & Sex is a Weapon. Both now have national CD distribution in the U.S. Give us a preview of 2014 for DJ Alamo I have scheduled TV and radio appearances throughout the Tri-State area. I will be releasing and/or hosting a variety of mixtapes. Official single releases through a new partnership with Fusion Music/CREATE.Digital Music/INgrooves-Fontana. Superbowl Gigs and other major events. I plan to travel a lot in 2014 so catch me in a city near you soon! What advice would you offer someone pursuing to be a professional DJ? First and foremost, you must respect the pioneers that came before you. Respect the DJ...period. Do your research, check for the people who have done it before you.
